David M. Drucker is a veteran Washington Journalist and the author of In Trump’s Shadow; The Battle for 2024 and the Future of the GOP, a deeply reported, forward-looking, behind-the-curtain examination of an evolving Republican Party and the ambitious men and women competing to influence where it heads next. Drucker is a senior writer at The Dispatch, an MS Now Contributor, and Bloomberg Opinion Writer.
Drucker is a regular panelist on MSNOW’s flagship morning program, “Morning Joe,” a weekly guest on Salem Radio’s nationally syndicated Hugh Hewitt Show, and he appears often on a variety of podcasts, talk radio and streaming programs across various platforms. Drucker has earned a reputation for accurate, insightful, and unbiased reporting and analysis on politics and policy that, crucially, ties together what’s happening in the nation’s capital, and why, with its political impact on voters — and vice-versa.
Drucker is a former reporter and editor for Roll Call, a newspaper covering Congress and campaigns for the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate; and served as a senior correspondent with the Washington Examiner. Drucker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of California Los Angeles.
Drucker is the unusual Washington journalist who pursued a career in business, outside of the nation’s capital, before transitioning to political reporting and analysis. As such, Drucker brings a unique perspective to his journalism: Firsthand experience with the practical impact of government policies and campaign politics on rank-and-file voters and how those policies, and the politics surrounding them, are interpreted, and received, by everyday Americans — from the blue-collar worker to the white-collar professional; from the small-business owner to the Fortune 500 executive; from the college student to the parent of school-age children.
In his entertaining presentations, Drucker combines compelling anecdotes and revealing information from the frontlines of his reporting, plus his interviews of major political figures, with objective, unvarnished analysis, to explain to audiences what is happening in Washington, and on the campaign trail and why —and perhaps more importantly, what is likely to happen next.
