Spence Checketts

A 20 year veteran in the Sports Media space, Spence Checketts is best known for his presence in the afternoons on the Salt Lake City airwaves, beginning with the wildly popular “Bill and Spence” show on ESPN 700, then continuing with “The Big Show” on 1280, The Zone. Both shows were the top-rated shows in the market during Checketts’ tenure.

Checketts’ afternoon drive dominance has continued with his current show, back on ESPN 700 with “The Drive with Spence Checketts”, the top rated sports talk radio show in Utah.

In addition to his radio career, Checketts has also worked as a Regional Scout for the New York Knicks, Venue Manager for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in SLC, and arena manager for Disney’s Wide World of Sports.

Checketts is also a sports analyst for Sinclair Media, appearing on KUTV’s Talkin Sports and is the host of Talkin Sports Reality Check with Spence Checketts, a weekly sports/lifestyle podcast.

Spence also serves as a media consultant for Cynosure/Checketts partners. A private equity group focused on investments in the world of sports/entertainment, as well as Rhone apparel, a health and wellness company producing high quality men’s and woman’s activewear.

A cancer survivor and an addict in recovery, Spence also allocates his energy to help those currently mired in addiction and is a frequent speaker/contributor at in patient rehabilitation facilities in the area.

During his free time you can find Spence on the nearest golf course, hanging with his dog Duke, or spending time with his son, Connor.
